About coldAlert

coldAlert Information

What is the coldAlert Sussex service?

coldAlert is a FREE service provided by the Sussex Air Quality Partnership (Sussex-air) and is supported by the Public Health Bodies (East Sussex and West Sussex County Councils). The service is operational again this winter (between November 2015 and March 2016) providing free “cold weather warnings” for those with respiratory and cardiovascular conditions, vulnerable residents, parents of young children, carers and healthcare professionals across Sussex.

The coldAlert service provides:

  • FREE cold weather event alerts direct to you and/or your carer or health professional
  • alerts over the winter from November 2015 to March 2016
  • information about when, where and how long a severe cold weather event is forecast
  • alerts are sent direct to either your home phone, mobile phone via the airAlert App as a text message, or by email

To join the FREE coldAlert service by choosing one of the options below:

The coldAlert service operates similarly to the existing airAlert service providing alerts, supporting information and advice to people with respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD. Both services run in parallel and can provide support to vulnerable people, carers and health professionals. airAlert provides air pollution warnings in Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Hampshire. The service is FREE, you can register by contacting us at the same telephone number or self-register via the airAlert website www.airalert.info.
